About Ahmed Sofa: Ahmed Sofa was born at Gachbaria in Chittagong District. He never married and he stayed his whole life as a single person. Ahmed Sofa's was writer. His career as writer began in 1960. After passed SSC and HSC from Chittagong Board, he studied at the Dhaka University. He received his MA degree in political science and he later did research work towards Ph.D degree. Unfortunately he was unable to gain the Ph.D degree. Ahmed Sofa wrote stories, novel, poem, biography, essays and translated the juvenile literature. He was also a editor and he edited many literary magazines, news papers etc.
Ahmed Sofa used his personal experience as the basis of his stories and novels. Through his writing, he protested social injustice and tried to portray the dreams and hopes of general people of the world.
The first novel of Ahmed Sofa was Suriya Tumi Sathi(The sun the companion), Onker (The Om)
Alat Chakra, Ali kenan, Pushpa Briksha and Bihanga Puran are Sofa's Famous writing. Ahmed Sofa was died in Dhaka medical college hospital on 20 July in 2001. He was laid to rest in Shahid Buddijibi in Mirpur Dhaka.
